Industrial weighing: Batching scale for the food industry in the Nordics

Load Indicator has delivered an industrial weighing solution for frozen pizza production in the Nordic food industry. The assignment focused on creating more accurate and repeatable weighing in a production flow where precision, hygiene, operating time and process stability are important requirements.

The need was to measure the product flow with greater precision and reduce deviations in production. The solution was built around a batching scale, which made it possible to weigh a defined amount of product repeatedly during the production process. With more reliable weighing, the customer gained better control over the process and could reduce both waste and unnecessary variation.

The project required careful adaptation of the mechanical components so that the weighing solution would work reliably in the existing production environment. The work combined industrial weighing, mechanical adaptation and measurement expertise to create a solution that could deliver stable results over time.

“A close and strong cooperation between all parties has resulted in a good outcome. The challenges that came up along the way were about finding the right mechanical components that worked with the sensitivity of the belt scale,” says Philip Carlsson, Project Manager and CEO at Load Indicator.

The finished solution achieved accuracy below 1 percent. For a food production environment where small deviations can have a large impact over time, this gives better conditions for efficient production, more stable dosing and reduced waste.
